It’s the morning - finally. The glorious sky envelops me with its splendor, and the breeze cools my body from the warm sun. There’s nothing quite like it, being high in the sky. You get to see everything, from things way down below the clouds to the alluring horizon, faded in the distance. It’s no wonder we got used to being out here: life just feels... safe, peaceful, away from all troubles. Believe me, there are troubles, especially down under. Or at least there were - things seemed to have changed since I last stayed down. I know many who live quite comfortably on the ground now. They never struggle to find food. Of course, we all share, because it wouldn’t make sense for any of us to be starving if someone else had food to spare. It’s worked like this since as far as I can remember. But I will say, without our other neighbor's help, it’d be a lot more difficult.

I wonder what changed for them. Maybe living down there got too competitive and they had no choice but to live up high. maybe they didn’t have a place to call home back down? Options were dwindling for everyone, that’s for sure. Or maybe they realized the air is better up here than it is down there. So many questions!

I guess sharing the same sky means we’d cross paths eventually, but I never knew how much we’d actually rely on them. We don’t have to travel as much to get our food now, because they bring what we need to us, so that we can keep growing helping each other out. I must admit, they’re pretty smart. Instead of competing with us and being afraid of us, they took time to understand us: how we move, how we do things. Although their noises are complete gibberish to me, I feel like I get them, like I can trust them. It’s been working extremely well so far - is this what we’ve been missing out on all this time? Everyone plays their part and accepts their responsibility. Because we’re neighbors now, and neighbors help each other, no?
